My name is Sid Atkinson and I work on warehousing and business intelligence projects. I live for data – but do not let it rule me. I won’t expound on this philosophy here, but if you want some insight into my methods, “In Search of Excellence” is a good place to start. Knowing the numbers is important, and some process do run “by the numbers” – (caveat here though), however this is not all there is to a company, a way of working and a strategy for moving forward, so I do not live by the numbers – they are important, but just one piece of the contextual story.
I got started on my warehousing career in my time at Dell after graduating from University of Virginia with a degree in Economic and Religious Studies (it’s clear to see the relationship between the two, so I won’t add more). For the last two years of my tenure at Dell, I worked with the global call center operations group where we were responsible for the operational and strategic reporting for 33 call centers around the globe. It was a great ride; I got a chance to work with some fantastic people that I still keep in touch with today, a lot of data and data projects, many different types of data and many different and disparate business processes.
I came to work for Catapult in mid 2006 and have been here since. I am currently a Senior Lead Consultant working on warehousing and reporting projects in the Austin and San Antonio area. There are many very intelligent people here, so it has been a challenge to hold the pace, but very exciting at the same time. Feel free to check our Catapult's recruiting page -- we are always looking for the best, and it is a fantastic place to work.
